Position available:

Trainee Prop Maker

1 + years experience

Full time position : 40 hours per week.

Starting rate from £13: dependent on experience.

Location: in-house, Stockport SK4 3EB.

The Trainee Prop Maker’s duties will include:

Creating character heads and props which are an accurate representation of the design alongside being comfortable to wear, with good vision and ventilation.
Working to a high standard and within given timeframes using a range of tools and materials; such as Plastazote, ABS vac formed plastics, glues, foams, faux fur, Lycra etc.
Working closely with the whole creative team to achieve a quality product and expand on your creative skills.
Assisting with all costume repairs, fixing and creating solutions for costumes returned during our annual ‘Refurb Season’.
Cutting and sewing skills would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate of a costume/prop making or other creative course, and show a passion and interest in working in the mascot and character costume industry.

The interview will require a short workshop skills test.

· Experienced prop maker (6-9 month maternity cover)

· 2 + years experience

· £14.00 – 16.00 per hour D.O.E

Full time, temp contract, 40 hours per week

Rate: dependent on experience + bonus payment

Location: in-house, Stockport SK4 3EB

The Prop Maker’s duties will include:

Creating character heads and props which are an accurate representation of the design alongside being comfortable to wear, with good vision and ventilation.
Working to a high standard and within given timeframes using a range of tools and materials, such as Plastazote, ABS vac formed plastics, glues, foams, faux fur, Lycra etc.
Following existing technical specifications and documenting construction methods for other makers to follow.
Working closely with the whole creative team to achieve a quality product.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience in the costume/prop making industries. Experience working with fur and Plastazote foam and a variety of fabrics would be an advantage.
Cutting and sewing skills would be an advantage.

The interview will require a short workshop skills test.
